World Health Organization marks progress in fight against tuberculosis

World Health Organization (WHO) recently reported significant progress has been made in decreasing the tuberculosis (TB) burden, but noted there is still a lot of work to do. The proposed strategy, called the Regional Framework for Action on Implementation of the End TB Strategy in the Western Pacific 2016-2020, seeks to adapt and apply the worldwide strategy to the specific concerns of each area and nation located within the Western Pacific Region. To do this, the WHO has partnered with national TB programs, Member States and regional experts to create a framework for controlling TB.
